What are Booking.com's Automated Messages?
Booking.com's automated messages feature allows you to send automatic messages to your guests through the Booking.com website.
In this article, we'll show you how to create these message templates and schedule them to be sent automatically. Most importantly, we'll explain how to add your Civitfun check-in link so that guests who book through Booking.com can access it via Booking.com's messaging service and check in before arriving at the hotel.
How Can I Set Up a Message and Schedule it on Booking.com?
⚠️ IMPORTANT
This configuration must be done in Booking.com extranet by the hotelier, Civitfun cannot do it for you.
Set Up Message Templates
1. Sign in to the extranet.
2. Click Property and then click Messaging preferences.
3. Click Message templates.
4. Click Create new template.
5. Write your message template. To make it easier, Booking.com has created pre-filled information blocks that autofill booking details. Below, we also provide you with a couple of examples provided by Civitfun for copy-paste:
Example of a check-in email in English:
Hello [FIRST_NAME],
We're excited to inform you that online check-in is now available for your upcoming stay at [PROPERTY_NAME] starting on [CHECKIN_DATE].
Save time upon arrival by completing your reservation check-in online. Click the link below to get started:
https://checkin.civitfun.com/hotel/[HOTEL_SLUG]/bookingSearchForm?channel=bookingcommessages

You'll find the check-in URL that you need to add for Booking.com internal messages in the Marketing section of the Civitfun dashboard.
6. Fill in the Template name and choose a Template topic.
7. The template is already created. Now you'll need to schedule it.
Schedule a Template Message
8. Click Template scheduler.
9. Click Schedule a template.
10. Select when you want to send it, in this case, "Before guest check-in" "1 day before arrival". Then choose which template you want to send from the dropdown menu, in this case, "Check in before arrival".
11. The template is already created and scheduled.
